His deep cuts will cause thirty-seven million people to lose healthcare and face chronic hunger or starvation because the CHIP Program, Children’s Healthcare Insurance, will be cut. Approximately 14 million disabled Americans under 65, including children, will lose SNAP ( which is the term for the old food stamp program) and face chronic hunger as a result of the cuts. SNAP serves 40 million Americans. I say Americans are about to experience these cuts if this finally passes. Still, poor Americans are now facing what Trump did to USAID recipients who were being kept alive by the surplus food we have sent for years. Musk and Trump cut USAID with Musk’s famous chainsaw. So African children and the children all over the world served by USAID who faced chronic hunger, are now facing starvation and death, according to former director Atul Gawande.

If the Senate changes the bill and passes a different version, the legislation would return to the House for a final vote. That means this is not the end of the legislative process. This could take up to 5 months or be done sooner.
