What Databases Do You Need to Start a GCM Business?

October 10, 2019

Beware of Paper

Some care managers still function on paper instead of using a care management database. That is a bad business decision. You need to give clients gold standard service to retain them and arming your care managers with the most user-friendly fully loaded client database makes their concierge care so much easier to deliver. This gives your business a more profitable bottom line in running a business. So spending money on a client database makes stock-photo-2811391-three-business-persons-working-with-laptop-in-sunny-office.jpg more  money

What are the ALCA Choices for a GCM  Database?

There are only five significant aging life or geriatric care management client databases.  So the choices for client software are slim. Jewel Code and Care Manager Pro more have been around for many years. More recent additions are Care Tree and ihealthhome  My Junna is the newest product. Care managers and ALCA managers are fans of  Clear Care, which offers staffing if you also have private duty home care. However, it is not really as user-friendly for most care management needs. If you are a geriatric or aging life care manager or a private duty home care agency doing geriatric care management- which one should you use and why. Find what you need in your client database and check out each product to see if it has what you want.

What  Should a GCM DatabaseDo For You?

Here is a list of what a care management database should do for you

  • Track all client information
  • Create and update a care plan
  • Create a client activity log
  • Tracks billable hours
  • Document client activities
  • Interface with a calendar for client and care manager appointments
  • Track client referrals
  • Track guardianship informatio

  • Track medications
  • Reconcile medications
  • Create a client face sheet with all demographics
  • Create a care community
  • Upload document and pictures
  • Do real-time updates
  • Be HIPPA compliant

  • Create reports and export data

Jewel Code- Aging Care Geriatric Care Management Client Data base

June 5, 2015

The third client database foraging life  or geriatric care managers is Jewel Code  Their web site will tell you their features in detail. They allow you to do  medication management, offer assessment and care plan tools, are HIPPA compliant, interface with Quick books for billing so you can enter client notes, track time spent and with a separate service called Mobile Case notes that allows you do all this in the field on your phone, I pad or other devices.

This is a general list and best to call a service rep in all cases.

Again, compare it to this master list of why you need a client data as a aging life, GCM and see if this choice fits your own professional your and budget.
