In the next week, I will cover a type of siblings that committed abuse and molestation generating a real sibling” I hate you story.” I have always listed the type of siblings as:
•Beloved Siblings
–Best friends – miles deep
•Buddy Siblings
– Caring – feet deep – not miles – not your best friends
•Reliable Siblings
–Air mattress. They can be blown up at any time
•Listless Siblings
–little interaction with each other as adults
•Seething Siblings
–full of anger but no violence
•Irate Siblings
–Cain and Abel – violence and aggression come into play
I am talking about irate siblings
Irate siblings have a problem with a sibling because something happened when they were younger. It may have involved aggression or violence. Cain and Abel are called to mind. Brothers and sisters who experienced sibling rivalry can fall into this category if violence and aggression come into play.
This physical violence has a vicious effect on young siblings but the brutality, fear and sometimes hatred lasts into midlife when siblings have to form a sibling team to care for aging parents
Irate siblings can experience sibling abuse in the form sexual, physical, or emotional violence. Abuse can occur between stepchildren, foster children, adopted children, or birth children. The sibling role of the oldest sibling, the more powerful, sibling role, can find the older sibling use their position in the home to abuse another sibling, leaving them feeling powerless, trapped and ashamed of the abuse. The sibling who is abused becomes a victim and the sibling abuser the villain.
This will be for life unless this siblings I hate you story comes out in the open. Children may not know if certain behavior is acceptable or not: children have to be taught the difference. Sibling abuse leads to emotional and physical trauma.
Experts estimate that three children in 100 are dangerously violent toward a brother or sister A 2005 study puts the number of assaults each year to children by a sibling at about 35 per 100 kids.
If you believe that you and one of your siblings are one of the last
This week in a series of blog we are going to cover irate siblings
