Jim, Boyd, a new care manager, lost their home,truck belongings- and care management agency- all burned to the ground in the Paradise, California, fire in 2018. He was rescuing an elderly client whose house was in flames while Jim’s house and all his belongings were destroyed by the Camp Fire in 2018, the largest fire in California history. The fire killed 85 residents in Paradise, a retirement town in the middle of a forest.  Care manager Carol Heape of Elder Options, located in the Sierras, reached out as an emergency sister agency and tried to help with calls from families Jim served. However, Jim could never recover and lost his care management practice and everything else.
