Practicing care management with the entitled family is a time consuming and emotionally taxing venture.  It requires the care manager to have a high level of experience in the field, as well as, a high level of education and psychodynamic understanding. 

It also requires that the care manager have a carefully designed and staffed practice.  Whether it is a solo practice or a group practice, a high level of technical and administrative support is mandatory to sustain work with the entitled family and their persistent and insatiable demand.   If one is prepared to provide service to this population, the work with these families means having a small number of them in each care manager’s caseload as their demands take so much of the case manager’s time.

Billing for all the time spent with an entitled or has care family makes more money for your care management business, but the small caseload of heavy care client’s assures all needs are met and avoids a care manager’s burn out.
